Kids 'N Action: Farewell BBQ
On Sunday 30th May we celebrated the last session of Kids ‘N Action for the current school year. With over 50 children and their family members present the event warmed up the surroundings on the Belgielei on that otherwise very rainy afternoon.
On the farewell celebration the children and their parents were told about and shown photos of all the main events of this year. The children enjoyed seeing themselves projected on the wall during the slide show.
After the slide show children were invited to decorate white KIA t-shirts and have a make-up artist draw animal expressions on their faces. A fine BBQ – complete with hotdogs, burgers, french fries, salads and other snacks and drinks was provided for. The kids, in the mean time, were spending their energy jumping on the large indoor castle.

The 16th Yarzeit of The Lubavitcher Rebbe
On Tuesday, the 3rd of Tammuz, (June 15) - we honor the 16th yahrzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory. The Rebbe was born in 1902 and passed away on the 3rd of Tammuz, of the year 5754 (June 12th, 1994).
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, is considered to have been a towering Jewish personality of modern times. To hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of people who have been touched by his work around the world, he was -- and still is, despite his passing -- "the Rebbe," undoubtedly, the individual singularly responsible for stirring the conscience and spiritual awakening of so much of world Jewry.
On the day of the yahrzeit of a Tzadik it is appropriate for every Jew to ask for blessing for all of his needs. One can do so by sending his requests to this email ohel@ohelchabad.org or fax to 001718.723.44.44. Sign with your Jewish name and your mother's Jewish name, the letter will be then put on the Rebbe's Grave site.

On Simchat Torah, the Torah wants to dance, but lacking the physical limbs with which to do so, it employs the body of the Jew. On this day, the Jew becomes the dancing feet of the Torah.

The visit to the dentist.
One day, Betty goes to her dentist and asks him how much it will cost to extract a wisdom tooth.
"Eighty pounds," the dentist says.
"That's a ridiculous amount," Betty says. "Isn't there a cheaper way?"
"Well," the dentist says, "if I don't use an anaesthetic, I can knock it down to £60."
"That's still too expensive," Betty says.
"Okay," says the dentist. "If I save on anaesthesia and simply rip the teeth out with a pair of pliers, I could get away with charging you only £20."
"No," moans Betty, "it's still too much."
"Hmm," says the dentist, scratching his head. "If I let one of my students do it without anaesthetic and use a pair of old pliers - just for the experience, you understand, I suppose I could charge you just £10."
"Marvellous," says the woman, "book my husband Moishe for next Tuesday!"

The Road to Heaven
"I, too, desire it!" Is Moses playing devil's advocate? Or is he baring a soul driven by a striving so exalted and G-dly that it is beyond the reach even of a Moses, a soul that finds its deepest yearnings frustrated by a divine command barring its path, commanding, "Stop. No. Not Yet."

Silence Speaks
Silence. Perplexed, the bank manager looked at the Rebbe. The Rebbe looked at him. More silence. What was going on?

Make Them or Break Them
On's wife did what any devoted better-half would do—she reassured him that she would take care of the situation. She then neutralized her husband (thank G‑d for the bottle!) as zero-hour approached...

Parshat Korach
G-d reveals Himself to Moses. Employing the "four expressions of redemption," He promises to take out the Children of Israel from Egypt, deliver them from their enslavement, redeem them and acquire them as His own chosen people at Mount Sinai; He will then bring them to the Land He promised to the Patriarchs as their eternal heritage.
Moses and Aaron repeatedly come before Pharaoh to demand in the name of G-d, "Let My people go, so that they may serve Me in the wilderness." Pharaoh repeatedly refuses. Aaron's staff turns into a snake and swallows the magic sticks of the Egyptian sorcerers. G-d then sends a series of plagues upon the Egyptians.
The waters of the Nile turn to blood; swarms of frogs overrun the land; lice infest all men and beasts. Hordes of wild animals invade the cities, a pestilence kills the domestic animals, painful boils afflict the Egyptians. For the seventh plague, fire and ice combine to descend from the skies as a devastating hail. Still, "the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he would not let the children of Israel go; as G-d had said to Moses."

Exposing the Light
All the world's problems stem from light being withheld.
Our job then, is to correct this. Wherever we find light, we must rip away its casings, exposing it to all, letting it shine forth to the darkest ends of the earth.
Especially the light you yourself hold.
